Player dialog

Just after invoking SBEAT, two dialog windows appear at the right side on the screen. The lower smaller one is the player dialog. Choosing Player item in window menu shows it again after closing it by clicking the close box at the upper left edge of the title bar.

The player dialog has three tabs labeled Repeat, Tempo, and Key/Scale. You can change the operation panel by clicking each tab.

Repeat tab has two radio buttons by which you can choose how to play the music. The scores are played repeatedly when the upper radio button is pressed. They are played only once when the lower radio button is pressed.

Tempo tab is to change the speed of play. The user can change the tempo in the range from 20 to 180 quarter notes per minute, by key input and operating the slider control. Clinking Apply button or pushing the return key applies the new value to the top field window, the top genome editor, or secondary selected bars of the top score window.

Key/Scale tab is to set up the key and scale. You can change the key, that is the number of sharps and flats, by operating the slider. You can also fix the key note by operating the pop-up menu. The key note depends on the gene in the default state, but you can select fixed note ignoring the genotype. You can change the scale to the equal tempered scale in twelve notes per one octave by checking on the bottom check box.
