Part option dialog
Two dialog windows appear on the right side of the screen when you start SBEAT.
The upper larger dialog window is the part option dialog.
Choosing Part option item in
window menu shows/hides it.
This dialog provides the user interface
to change a several parameters
of playing and mapping from genotype to phenotype for each part.

Clicking a small triangle at the left edge of each part
shows/hides buttons and sliders of the part.

Clicking the button at near the upper left corner of the window
labeled "disclosure," a menu to open/close more than one parts
at once appears.
You can open all parts, the parts played, close the parts not played, and close
all parts by choosing a item of this menu.

The buttons with eye icon are to decide which parts are shown in scores.
Four out of 23 parts are drawn in each bar.
The icon with opened eye
indicates the score is shown.
The icon width closed eye
indicates the score is not shown.
The icon changes from closed eye to opened eye and the score of
the part appears instead of the part indicated by half opened eye
, when you click the closed eye.
The icon changed from opened eye to half open when you click the opened eye.

Clicking the button with a speaker's icon
turns play on/off for each part.
If you keep pushing it width holding shift key down during playing,
you can listen to the sound of only that part.

Clicking a button with the name of instrument for solo and chord parts,
a dialog window appears at the center of screen that allows you
to choose the kind of instrument for the part from sound resources programmed in GM.
The button for Drums & percussion
is to choose the kind of drums kit for all of drums and percussion parts.
Clicking a button for drums and percussion parts, another type of dialog
window appears by which you can choose a set of timbres.

Buttons with digit at the right side of instrument buttons are to choose
the range of pitches by indicating octaves.
The larger number indicates the higher pitches.

Buttons with note icon
set up
the length of unit beat choosing from one of quarter, eighth, and sixteenth.

Buttons with digit at the right side of note buttons are to choose the number
of iterations in a bar. You can choose one of 1, 2 and 4.
If you set it into 2, for example, the score of half length of bar is generated
and a bar is filled with twice of the score.

Clicking a button with lock icon
switches protection on/off.
A genome is constructed from three types of chromosome, melody, rhythm
and velocity. The button at the upper center of the window is to choose
the type of chromosome to modify by buttons.
You can modify the protection of all types of chromosome if
you click it with holding shift key down.
The marks at the right side of the button is to indicate if each of chromosomes,
melody, rhythm and velocity from top to bottom, is locked or not.

A slider
at the right side of
lock button is to indicate the gene part for the score part.
The type of chromosome for this operation is changed by the menu
that appears when you click the button at the upper center of dialog window.
The parts sharing a same rhythm chromosome are
played synchronously.
The parts sharing gene parts of both rhythm and melody are
played in unison.

A menu button, a reset button, and sliders
at the right side of the dialog window are
for changing some control parameters of playing tune. The menu indexes
the type of control to change. Each slider indicates the current value
of the control parameter of each part. You can change the value by operating
the sliders.
Reset button resets the all of control values to the default values.
